James had started the night busy. Running a nightclub was harder than it looked apparently. Not only that, but it was quite a busy night tonight. Fairly packed. Normally James would be ecstatic to have so many lively and energetic patrons, hell he'd have dropped the bar-tending altogether and joined the fun, abandoning his poor employees, and play to the crowd. He wasn't sure if his new guest would appreciate having to make her way through the crowd though, there are many people not as social as him, and he's felt the pains of social awkwardness in his earliest days. A look of concern crossed his face. "I hope she'll be okay..." The club itself seemed fairly normal from the outside, albeit covered in what was clearly a great deal of graffiti. It actually looked rather well-crafted. But the moment one begins walking inside their is naught but a large stairway downwards. Either the upper levels were a ruse or simply unfinished for now. It was a fairly recent establishment after all. But as soon one reaches the bottom of the stairs they are greeted with a large hall that seems to live purple and blue as the metal reverberates throughout the walls of this underground light-show. If one could filter their senses enough to have a decent look around, they would notice brick stairways reaching up to the upper floors, but they appeared barred off for now. There also appeared to be a bar area, and some private rooms, no more than 3 or 4, on each side. Jeanette had been given a pass to one of these rooms, one she was told where kindred could talk freely. James had been ever so curious about her. She was as new as she, but she had a sire who came along with her. It wasn't just association with the Prince though. He was curious. He wondered if she had a sire that cared, and if so, what was it like? Was she her first family, or her second? How did she feel about that? Did she adapt to it, or hate it? Or did it not even matter? James never knew. He's never really known "Family". Maybe she did. Either way, she seemed nice, and what better way to get started than for all the newbies to get friendly with each other? Seemed like a nice idea anyway. The pass had told her to meet him at "The window where the sun shined after dark ", he liked to be a bit of a tease, and he knew Malkavians liked little mysteries. But just in case she didn't figure it out, the card had the number of the room on it anyway. ...Just in case. And when Jeanette enters this room, she sees a small seating area with a mini-bar, covered in graffiti art. And true to his word, James was sitting right in front of a window, one where the sun had only began to set.

The first area was murder on Janette, her senses were overloaded with sight and sound. She began to feel herself sway, her voice catching in her throat. Her hands flew to her ears as she felt herself begin to panic. "No...No...I need to get out...I need to ge..." She'd find herself bumping into someone, the person said...something? She couldn't understand, and would lash out by shoving them quite hard away from her. "Get away!" She'd yell, making the small group near by stop and stare.
The longer she spent here, the longer she found herself in a panic...the more she had to hold down the beast. Her vision was bluring, until she caught sight of the stairs. She bolted for them, tripping half way up, but forcing herself to scramble on until she came to the room. The sunset...the calm, the door shutting behind her as she closed out all of that awful noise. She couldn't speak at first, her eyes looked glassy and she was using the door to brace herself.
He'd see her standing in a floral dress, the colours a muted blue, yellow, and green over a pair of black tights and white flats. She was gripping her sweater around herself, muttering before slowly coming back to reality.
"Hello, James. How have you been?"

James looked at her, smiling but slightly concerned. Perhaps he should have walked her in?
"Hi there Janette. I like your dress. Did you make it in ok? I know it's something of a mess out there."
"Things are going pretty nicely for me so far though, got myself a nice bar, made some friends in some high places, everything's coming together for me right now. How about yourself? You look a little frazzled."
James gave her a warm smile.

The ginger watched James carefully, rubbing her eyes a few times. His voice was grating on her, and that made her feel bad. He was trying to be kind, but she couldn't stand noise right then. She'd smile sweetly, if not awkwardly, before approaching him slowly.
"I got a bit confused, but I'm fine." She never rambled if she could help it.
"Thanks, I found it in a thrift shop." She'd say, walking towards the nearest seat and settling in. Her hands held her face, cupping her cheeks and supporting her chin. "I'm going to tell you something personal. I am on the spectrum, and sometimes too much happening around me makes me..." Her voice trailed off. "I don't want to hurt anyone, so next time, can we meet somewhere less...loud?"

Yeah, looks like she had some trouble getting in. Should've known better than to hold a meeting here. At least she seems more relaxed now.
Jame's voice quietened and softened slightly.
"Yeah that's absolutely fine. It's my fault for dragging you out here anyway, I should've known better than to hold a loud as hell club as a place for us to hang out. Any place in particular you want to go to next time? Y'know a park might be nice, I don't spend so much time outside the city centres any more, and it would be nice and quiet. Less crowds at least."
"Anyway, how've you been these past few days? I've just been settling in myself. It's been more fun than I would've thought. Someday I should tell you how I got sent here. Not much of a punishment. I'm grateful to be able to get away from it all."
He smiled back at her. It was nice to find someone to talk to finally. That wasn't an authority figure, or, well, psychopathic.

She'd glance his way, a strange meekness about her. "I doubt you knew what would happen. No one really understands it." Her voice was calm now, a stillness falling over her. The girl watched him move, avoiding his eyes, but still looking upon him.
"I've been fine. I still haven't met The Black Rose, but I am setting up a haven. It isn't so bad here, I like how the city feels. The other kindred cities are so focused on politics, its draining."
Janette shrugged, awkwardly returning his smile. "I guess you're from the Prince's clan...am I right?"

James leaned in ever so slightly, still maintaining that bright demeanour.
"Yeah, Prince's clan. I'm kinda obvious about it. No point trying to hide what you are to the world, at least in my mind. But I guess everyone has their secrets. I'm curious what made ya' think that though..."
He stops for a moment, giving himself a moment to prepare for this continuing line of conversation, still beaming.
"It's nice that you're getting yourself set up though, this city has a nice atmosphere, it's a real community and I feel a lot of people take for granted. Speaking of havens though: Pro-tip: One of the nicer points about having everyone meet at your place of business is that they don't ask where you live."
He winks at her and his smile turns to one of mischief before returning to it's default state of unending joy.
"...So, what about your clan? I mean, if you don't mind me asking of course. Not everyone's comfortable about it, and I wouldn't dare assume anything like that."

"Oh, I'm very proud to be in my clan... Malkavian, its far better than the other one I almost was. But that's an awkward story for another day." She'd smile, her face seemed far too gentle to be a monster. She was doll like, and clearly turned just after her teen years were reaching their twilight.
"Place of business...I've yet to set something like that up. I am too busy taking care of Alex and Paige most of the time." There was a slight pause, before she glanced away from him to look around the room a few times, taking everything in.
"I like your choice of colours. It is very pretty in here."

James nodded and smiled at her, he looked soft and fragile in this state, something that seemed to contradict his rather punk-ish look.
"Aw, thanks... I wanted to make this a place where people could feel safe and... Happy. That's why I have that sun up there. I still remember what it looked like, everyone should, I think."
"...But who are Alex and Paige? I think I've heard those names before... Are they your friends? If you need help with anything, I'd be more than happy to help you with your friends."

Janette always looked so fragile, like a doll, so easily breakable. Harmless, was honestly her most visible trait.
"Happy in our world is sometimes hard to achieve, but its good that you're trying."
"Oh, Alex is my sire. He has a lot going on, business with the Prince and he hasn't had time to cook since he's been here... Paige is, well, she's... hard to explain. She's Kindred, but something close to a ghoul. She owes Alex a life boon..."

Life Boon? Ouch. James had heard about those, but had never met anyone who owed one.
"I'm sorry to hear that Paige has found herself in trouble. Maybe I can help ease the burden for her sometime. I guess if she ever finds herself in trouble, tell her she can give me a call. I don't mind doing odd stuff for people every now and then, I gotta take care of people after all. She doesn't have to worry about debt either. I don't really deal in minor boons that much unless it's a special case, they come across as needless to me personally. People don't have to do every little thing with something it for them. I only really ask for something when people ask me to do the big stuff, and that's mainly because I've been burnt in the past. My sire wasn't a very good person... It's just, I don't get why we can't just help each other without always demanding servitude in return, you know. Like, it should be our responsibility to help someone in trouble, not something that binds you to someone. I guess it makes sense if you save someone's life or something, but just doing an odd job for someone doesn't add up to me. And it just causes people to act selfishly so you have this vicious cycle of everyone trying to make THEMSELVES happy by making everyone ELSE unhappy but everyone else is doing that so now everyone's unhappy..."
James seems to get quite caught up in this rant, to the point where he looks quite flustered and upset.
He lets out a saddened sigh. It seems James is only ever miserable or jubilant, but he seems to return a wry smile as he looks at Janette.
"Sorry. I have a tendency to rattle on..."

"Paige deserves servitude... she... she killed the love of Alex's life. Tortured her, brutally, before giving him her ashes in a jar...all because...his sire asked her to. To make him like...like him. He wanted Alex to become a serial killer... he wanted Alex to kill Paige."
She glanced down at the table. "He was given the right of destruction on her and my real father...I was a ghoul at the time. Anyway, that all doesn't matter. I...Everything's fine, I...Its fine that you talk a lot..."

James looked aghast. He tripped over one of the worst possible land-mines, and without even realising.
He remained silent for a few seconds, before resolving to speak again.
"...I'm sorry."
"I guess this is what happens when I get carried away, huh?"
*James lets out a brief, wry chuckle.*
"I'm glad Alex didn't fall for... What Paige did. It's good to know that there are still... Merciful people out there. Maybe Paige doesn't deserve my help.... But it looks like you would."
James takes a moment before speaking again, considering something. His voice rises to speak, soft and sympathetic in tone, almost like he's being weighed down or wounded.
"Maybe you should... Know... It's only fair, considering you told me all of this. You might have even saved my life just now. Part of my past is that I'm no stranger to... Loss and torture. You're not alone. Nobody should be alone."
He then gives a genuine smile.
"So I'm glad you came to visit me!"

Janette smiled, a rather shy smile. She wasn't really good with new people, but it seemed like she was feeling safer.
"Don't get me wrong, I care about Paige...she was my father's childer, she was just stupid. If Jack hadn't given the order, I doubt she would... would have hurt Maria like she did. Paige just got so caught up in wanting to show people how tough she was..."
"Alone is fine, its quiet, and I can work with quiet...lonely is different, lonely isn't a nice feeling. I'm glad that you're not lonely with me here."

"I don't mind if I'm lonely, as long as you're not lonely. If I need to be sad so a bunch of other people can be happy, that's a trade I'll take every day. I sometimes need to be alone to work too, but if I was lonely, I'm not sure I could work. Lonely isn't a nice feeling, but knowing you're not lonely is a good one."
He beamed at her, at his comment.
