Its late, and the moon is already high and full. It casts light down upon an old farm house just outside of town, where Isabelle has sent you. There's a barn just beyond it, with a light on. Odd, for someone to be up this late.

Jake trod carefully. His bow and spear strapped to his back and his other weapons to his belt. The farmhouse intrigued him but on the off chance that there was a normal explanation to the light, and they would have to explain their presence, he'd rather check everywhere else first. He looked at Carson and knelt down to find the tracks they were after.

Carson looks back at Jake, before standing slightly off to the side and begins chanting low under his breath in Gaelic.
(Int + Occult to activate Way of Spirit; 4, 6, 10, 10, 6)
Carson's eyes fly open as his senses expand over the area (OOC ~ I can't remember, but his rating is 2 in Way of Spirit) He then very carefully begins observing all within the area.

Carson: What you see, hear, and smell... is blood, torn flesh, and stink. Like, the smell of dog poop. You hear the farmers talking, hushed voiced, yet angry.
"Paw, I don't understand how...the horses were locked in... someone had to break that lock, but...no man eats a horse like that..."
Jake: You find a few canine prints around the fence, leading inside the farm, as well as human tracks.

Carson's lip curls in disgust at the scent, but he keeps the awareness going to monitor their surroundings.
"There are farmers about. We should be... quiet"

Jake shook his head as he picked up his axe and spear and handed them to Carson. Next were his bow and tomahawk, but he didn't hand them over without giving them a kiss first. He didn't really like the idea of surrendering his weapons, especially not to a yingwese, but if Carson wasn't going to be more helpful, something had to be done. "Hold these." he said quietly as he straightened up, shook the dirt off his pants and reached for his badge. Next he walked up to the house and knocked on the front door.

There wasn't an answer from the door, as though the house was empty. However, after a moment a man walks up, from the barn, with a towel in hand. His arms and clothes are stained in blood, and he seems dismayed.
"Can I help you gentlemen?"

Jake stood up straight and greeted the man. "Good evening, I'm Detective Yuki with the Police Department. We were sent to examine recent animal deaths in the area. You've had any trouble of the sort here?" He showed his badge and then glanced at Carson. "Please don't mind my friend, the new private museum is doing an exhibition on the Native American People and we were helping out with deliveries when we got the call."

"...Right, well...I'm not really in the mood for bullshit tonight. Some animal broke in and killed my daughter's pony and my entire breeding stock. So unless you've got a warrant to arrest a wolf...do you mind?"

The irony of the farmer's words might have made Jake laugh if he was in the mood, actually yes, he sort of did have a warrant to arrest a wolf, he decided not to comment though. "Would you mind if we had a look around, sir?" He asked in stead. Realizing that the farmer and his family might also be in danger from the wolf yet finding himself not really caring. He was here to hunt it down, not take care of people who got in its' way.

Carson looks over to Jake and walks over to him and says
"My partner here isn't the nicest. I aplogize sir, he's in a foul mood because he was very excited for this exhibit, and then all this happened. We are here to help you sir, especially as that wolf might come back. We just need to look around to see what we can find, sir."
(Next post will contain a roll for Carson)

"...If you think it will help, go ahead. The horses, what's left, are in the barn.." He grumbles, and motions you to have a look around.
